Raketa Soyuz MS-04 u leshua diten e sotme nga kozmodromi Baikonur ne Kazakistan e enjten, 20 prill 2017 ne oren 13:13 koha e Baikonurit qe mbante astronautin NASA Jack Fischer dhe kozmonautin Fyodor Yurchikhin i agjencise Ruse Roscosmos ne nje misioni kater mujor e gjysme ne Stacionin Nderkombetar te Hapesires.
Pas nje fluturimi gjashte oresh,anija Soyuz arriti ne Stacionin Nderkombetar te Hapesires ne oren 9:18 EDT te enjten, ku dy anetaret e rinj te ekuipazhit u bashkuan me Komandantin e Ekspedites 51 Peggy Whitson austronaute e NASA dhe Inxhinieret e Fluturimit Oleg Novitskiy te Roscosmos dhe Thomas Pesquet te ESA’s (Agjencia Europiane e Hapesires).Anetaret e Ekspeditet se 51 do te kryejne rreth 250 hulumtime shkencore ne fusha te tilla si ne biologji, shkencat e Tokes, hulumtime njerezore, shkencat fizike dhe zhvillimin e teknologjise.
