Ky grup prej tre imazhesh tregon pikepamjet henes Phobos te Marsit duke tranzituar diellin nga pikepamja e roverit Curiosity i NASA’s ne planetin e kuq. Curiosity e ka fotografuar kete eklips unazor,me 20 gusht 2013, diten 369 marsiane, apo solstice,qe kur Curisoity eshte ulur ne Mars.
Phobos nuk mbulon plotesisht diellin, siç shihet nga siperfaqja e Marsit, keshtu eklipsi diellor quhet eklips unazor. Nje grup prej tre kornizash nga kamera Mast e Curisoity (Mastcam),eshte marre ne tre sekonda kur Phobos ka kaluar diellin, shikoje ne http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/msl/multimedia/pia17356.html.
Vezhgimet e henes se Marsit, Phobos dhe Deimos, nga Curiosity dhe nga roverat me te vjeter, si dhe nga roveri Marsian Opportunity po ndihmojne kerkuesit te marrin njohuri me te sakta te orbitave te henave. Gjate vezhgimeve te 20 gushtit , pozita e kalimit te Phobosit perballe diellit ishte nje apo dy milje (dy ose tre kilometra) me afer qendres se pozicionit te diellit se sa studiuesit e parashikuan.
